How to download a Philadelphia water bill

Philadelphia water bills are handled by the Water Revenue Bureau through MyPhillyWaterBill. With an account you can find and print bills from the last 13 months, set up AutoPay and decide where a payment goes. For a bill older than 13 months, call the Water Revenue Bureau at (215) 685-6300 or ask for a copy in person at a municipal services center.
What you need first
Registration and payment both start with the nine-digit Water Access Code printed on your bill, plus your ZIP code. For an eCheck you also need your bank's routing number and your bank account number.
Bill lookup in MyPhillyWaterBill
Once registered, you can pull up any bill from the last 13 months and print it. The account also lets you allocate a payment yourself across water and sewer charges, repair charges and HELP loans. Without it, the city applies payments to the oldest debt first, starting with sundry invoices and then penalties and interest.
Older bills are not in the portal. Call (215) 685-6300, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., email wrbhelpdesk@phila.gov, or request a copy at a municipal services center.
Payment methods and fees
- Free: automatic bank payments and eCheck, online or by phone at (215) 685-6300.
- Card online or by phone: $2.95 for residential accounts and $15.95 for commercial accounts. The automated card line is (877) 309-3709.
- In person: $3.45 for a PIN debit card, or 2.10% with a $1.50 minimum on credit cards, at the Municipal Services Building at 1401 JFK Blvd. or the Castor Ave. and N 22nd St. centers. Only Center City takes cash.
- Mail: the return stub with a check or money order payable to Water Revenue Bureau, P.O. Box 41496, Philadelphia, PA 19101-1496.
A late bill picks up 5% of the total, plus 0.5% for each month the charges stay unpaid.
Setting up AutoPay
AutoPay is a recurring monthly bank payment that requires a MyPhillyWaterBill account. The city's AutoPay notices say it draws only from a checking or savings account, not a card, and starts with the billing cycle after you join. The monthly bill is still issued, and it is the copy to file because it breaks out each charge.
Philadelphia water bills beyond 13 months
Thirteen months leaves a gap at every tax filing for a rental owner. Connect MyPhillyWaterBill and our AI agent saves each new bill as it posts, through bill fetching. The archive keeps growing past the portal limit, and bills for a home office or a rental unit are ready for tax receipts and expense reports.
