Receipts and invoices

Halifax Water normally shows bills in Customer Connect, its online account. As of October 2026 the portal is offline while Halifax Water and the vendor that runs it investigate a privacy incident. Customers registered for paperless billing are getting paper bills by mail until it returns. For account questions in the meantime, the Customer Care Centre is at 902-420-9287, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Customer Connect when it is online

Customer Connect launched in November 2020 and replaced epost, which stopped carrying Halifax Water bills on May 31, 2021. When running, it delivers bills online with bill and payment notifications, and it uses smart meter data to show usage and forecast future amounts. Sign-up starts from My Account on halifaxwater.ca with a recent bill at hand.

Bill lookup in your old epost archive

Halifax Water said customers keep access to bills stored in epost for up to seven years, while warning that those terms could change. It recommends downloading anything you want to keep. Former epost users may find their oldest Halifax Water bills there.

Paying a Halifax Water bill

  • Online banking or telebanking: check with your bank for the options it offers.
  • Card: Mastercard or Visa, with a 1.75% service fee per transaction.
  • Drop-off boxes: 24-hour boxes at Halifax Water offices, for cheques and money orders made out to Halifax Water.
  • In person: bring the full bill to a listed location or a Halifax Customer Service Centre.

Pre-authorized Payment Plan

Under the plan, Halifax Water withdraws each payment from your bank on the due date. The current bill has to be paid in full before you apply with the PDF application form. Bills still arrive with the plan in place, and those bills are what you keep. Payment extensions and arrangements for overdue accounts go through Customer Care.

Halifax Water bills while the portal is down

With Customer Connect offline, the paper bill in your mailbox is the copy you have. Photograph each one with the receipt scanner when it arrives. A landlord paying water for several Halifax units can then pull the year together for tax receipts or an expense report.
