How to download a Direct Energy bill

Direct Energy bills in Canada are kept in the Online Account. Sign in, open Bills & Payments or the menu, and choose Billing & Payment History. Statement PDF opens your most recent bill, and Bill Summary leads to the full billing history, where previous statements can be viewed and downloaded.
Direct Energy Regulated Services in Alberta
In Alberta, households that haven't chosen a retailer are assigned the default regulated provider for their area. Direct Energy Regulated Services (DERS) fills that role for electricity in Northern and East-Central Alberta, at rates approved by the Alberta Utilities Commission. Alberta rules keep regulated natural gas and regulated electricity on separate bills, though both accounts sit in one Online Account. Direct Energy also notes that when service stays on at a property and nobody has taken over the account, billing responsibility may stay tied to the property until a customer assumes it.
Bill lookup in the app and online
The Direct Energy app holds the same history: under Account, tap Manage your billing to see past bills and payments. To change where paper bills go, edit the mailing address under Manage preferences in the Profile section, with an option to apply it to every account. Bills are processed within 1 to 3 business days of the distributor's meter reads and appear online the next business day.
Paying a Direct Energy bill
- Quick Pay: select Pay Your Bill at the top of the Direct Energy Canada home page to pay without signing in.
- Online Account: Pay My Bill, then pick the account from the drop-down, the electricity or natural gas account, the payment method and the amount.
- Phone: Direct Energy customer support at 1-866-374-6299.
- Online banking for DERS: add DIRECT ENERGY REGULATED SERVICES AB as payee with your account number as the reference. The exact name varies a little by bank.
- Cheque: accepted for DERS bills.
If you need more time, the Payment Extension page under Payment information grants two extra weeks.
Auto Pay and Average Billing
Auto Pay pays the bill from your bank account or an eligible card on the pay-by date of each billing cycle. You still receive the bill and payment confirmations and can review the bill before the payment runs. Cancel on the Auto Pay page under Payment information. Auto Pay pairs with Average Billing for an even monthly amount. The statement, not the confirmation email, is the document to keep.
Direct Energy statements for every premises
A business with several sites, or a landlord with gas and power accounts on each unit, spends the year switching accounts in that drop-down. Connect your Direct Energy login and our AI agent downloads each statement PDF with bill fetching. Business premises bills are ready for expense reports, and rental bills for tax receipts.
