City of Winnipeg

City of Winnipeg water and sewer bills are issued quarterly by the Water and Waste Department and managed in MyUtility, the City's online portal. Register a profile to view and manage your utility bills on any device. MyUtility accounts are paperless by default unless you switch them back to postal mail under My Profile.

Bill lookup in MyUtility

After you register, bills appear in the portal rather than in the mail. Alerts cover past-due reminders, meter reading requests and changes to pre-authorized payments. MyUtility's online forms also handle moves, meter readings and re-bill requests for estimated bills, which must reach the City before the due date.

Landlord accounts

Tell the Utility Billing Centre you are a landlord and it issues a landlord account number for each rental property. Add each one in MyUtility under My Profile with Add Account. A landlord account shows the tenant's past-due balance, the next bill date, meter reading details, the account holder's name and the service address. Quarterly payments are the owner's responsibility unless the tenant is set up as account holder, in which case any past-due tenant charges appear under Tenant's Balance. Landlord, manager and tenant accounts each receive bills and notices based on their own settings.

Paying a Winnipeg utility bill

  • Bank: online, by phone or in person, with the 11-digit account number from the top of the bill. Allow three to four business days.
  • Card: credit or co-badged debit through Paymentus on the City's website, with a fee.

Pre-authorized payments

The City recommends pre-authorized payments to avoid late fees, with the amount taken from your bank account on the due date. Apply in MyUtility under My Account, apply online without a profile, or mail the paper form to the Water and Waste Department. Either side can end the arrangement with 30 days' written notice. The quarterly bill keeps arriving, and it is the document behind each withdrawal.

Winnipeg utility bills for every rental

The landlord view lists balances and bill dates, while the bills themselves go to whoever holds each account. Connect MyUtility and our AI agent saves each quarterly bill with bill fetching. Bill notices can be captured through email receipt capture, and four bills a year per property line up for tax receipts.
