How to download a City of Ottawa water bill

City of Ottawa water and sewer bills are kept in My ServiceOttawa. After registering the account, select View water account, go to Billing, find the bill and choose PDF to download it, or View to read it in the browser. If an older bill isn't listed, widen the dates with the calendar filter.
Registering a water account
Log in to My ServiceOttawa and choose Register your water utility account under Water Utility Bill on the Dashboard. Enter the most recent billed amount, then the customer and account numbers from that bill. A checkbox on the same screen turns on paperless bills. With it ticked, paper bills stop and an email says when each bill is ready.
Bill lookup for several properties
Several water accounts can sit under one customer number. On the Billing page, pick the account before searching, which keeps an owner's properties apart.
Paying online and by bank
In My ServiceOttawa, open View water account, choose Pay Bills in the left menu and press Pay Bills again to move to Paymentus. It takes Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Visa or Mastercard debit. Paymentus adds a service fee and emails a receipt showing it. Payments made before 10 p.m. are credited on the next business day. In online banking, the payee is City of Ottawa-Water, with your 15-digit account number.
Pre-authorized debit
Pay the current bill first, because enrolment needs a $0.00 balance. Then open View water account, select the account, choose Pre-authorized payment in the left menu, enter your banking details and submit. The City mails a confirmation letter, and the setup also shows in My ServiceOttawa. Revenue Services needs 9 days for changes and cancellations, and a PAD plan doesn't follow you to a new address. The bill is still issued with PAD on and is the document to keep.
Ottawa water bills without the calendar filter
Hunting through the Billing date filter for last spring's bill gets tedious with a few rentals. Connect My ServiceOttawa and our AI agent downloads each new water bill PDF with bill fetching. Paperless notices can be captured through email receipt capture, and the bills are ready for tax receipts on rental income.
