How to download a Bank of America bank statement

Recent statements in Online Banking

Select the account and open Statements & Documents. The last 18 months are there to view, print or download. If you are enrolled in paperless statements, each statement also includes images of the front of your canceled checks, up to 10 per page. Paperless settings live under Profile & Settings.

Ordering a statement older than 18 months

1. Sign in to Online Banking.
2. Select the account.
3. Open the Statements & Documents tab and request the statement.

Copies are available for up to seven years. Bank of America's tax preparation FAQ does not list a fee or a delivery time for these requests.

Copies of canceled checks

Check images can be requested for seven years after the check posts. Select the account and use the Information & Services tab. For checks older than 18 months you need the check number, the date and the amount of each one. Customers without Online Banking contact the bank; for line of credit checks the number is 1-800-934-5626.

Credit card statements

Bank of America's credit card FAQ says you can download, print and email your card statement from mobile banking, and request paper statements. It also lets you request up to 12 months of detailed transaction information and download transactions for use with financial management software.

When a statement is enough

A bank statement proves that money moved and when. It is the right document for proof of income, a rental application or reconciling your books. To claim a business purchase, keep the seller's receipt as well, since the statement line shows neither the items nor the sales tax.
