How to get a Supabase invoice
Founder & CEO, Smartbills
3 min read
Supabase emails every invoice and also lists it on the organization's invoices page, in the billing settings of the Supabase dashboard. Billing is per organization: each one has its own subscription, payment method, billing cycle and invoices. Usage from all projects in an organization is summed on one monthly invoice.
Find the right organization
Open the dashboard, select the organization that owns the projects, and go to its billing page. The invoices list is there, along with the address and Tax ID settings. A project created under a personal organization bills to that organization, not to the company's. Supabase supports project transfers if a project landed in the wrong place.
How the billing cycle works
The cycle starts on the day the organization was created and resets on that day each month. An org created on January 6 is invoiced around the 6th. When that day does not exist in a month, the last day is used.
What one invoice charges
Each invoice mixes two periods. Fixed fees such as the plan, HIPAA or priority support are charged in advance for the cycle that is starting. Usage fees such as Compute, Egress, storage and Monthly Active Users are charged in arrears for the cycle that just ended. Included quotas appear as discounts, and paid plans include $10 of Compute Credits a month. When you accrue an invoice, split it between the two months it covers if your bookkeeper wants that precision.
Tax ID and billing address
Add or update the Tax ID in the address section of the organization's billing page. A valid Tax ID lets Supabase apply reverse charge in many regions. The billing address decides the tax calculated. Changes only affect upcoming invoices, because Supabase's payment provider cannot regenerate previous ones. Update details before the next invoice is finalized.
Paying and failed charges
Invoices are collected from the organization's active card. Supabase only accepts credit cards, invoices in USD, and the charge may appear as coming from Singapore. If a payment fails, Supabase retries and sends a Payment Failure email, and you can pay from the link in that email or the Pay now button on the invoices page.
Supabase invoices that reach finance
Supabase already emails each organization's invoice. Have it land in a mailbox that email receipt capture reads and the PDF is filed with its usage lines as it arrives, one per organization. If developers created orgs under personal emails, our AI agent can sign in to those accounts and download each invoice with bill fetching. subscription tracking then shows Compute and Egress growth month by month.
