Hootsuite bills web plans in advance, monthly or yearly. Its invoices work as receipts too, because they list each billed item and the payment against it.
Viewing an invoice
- Open My profile and select Manage my plan.
- Open the Billing Info tab.
- Select View Invoice, then print it to PDF to keep a copy.
Legacy Pro plans use a slightly different menu.
How payments appear
Payments received during the current invoice period are listed on the current invoice. A late payment shows on the next invoice, which can make two consecutive invoices look odd side by side.
Second email and VAT number
Under the Billing tab in Account & Settings, you can add a secondary email address to receive invoices, and enter a VAT number to appear on them.
Mobile app subscriptions
If you subscribed in the Hootsuite mobile app, Apple or Google bills you, and Hootsuite cannot see those purchases. Receipts come from Apple to your Apple ID email, or from Google Play, which may not be the email on your Hootsuite account.
Social media tools as a business cost
Hootsuite is often bought by a marketing lead on a card and forgotten by finance. The invoice is the record, VAT included where it applies.
Hootsuite invoices delivered to finance
Add a finance mailbox as Hootsuite's secondary invoice email and email receipt capture files every invoice from it, VAT number and all.
