Sign on to Wells Fargo Online and open Statements & Documents. Select a statement and your browser or device saves it as a PDF. Most checking and other deposit accounts keep statements for up to seven years; credit cards keep two years and auto loans twelve months.
Opening a statement in Statements & Documents
Wells Fargo lets you select one statement at a time. When you open it, your device or browser may download and save the file automatically. Printing may require signing on from a computer rather than the app. There is no charge for online statements.
How long each product keeps statements online
- Deposit accounts, home mortgages, and trust and managed investment accounts: up to 7 years.
- Credit cards, home equity lines of credit, and personal loans and lines of credit: up to 2 years.
- Auto loans: up to 12 months.
The exact window for each of your accounts is listed inside Statements & Documents. Card statements drop off after two years, which is shorter than most tax record rules. Download them before then.
After an account closes
Online statements for a closed account may stay available for about 90 days after closing. After that, Wells Fargo Customer Service provides copies. Grab the last year of PDFs before you close an account you used for business.
Downloading account activity for bookkeeping
- Choose the account, then Download Account Activity under the Accounts tab.
- Confirm the From and To dates.
- Select Comma Delimited (ASCII, Spreadsheet), or Quicken Web Connect.
- Select Download and save the file.
The default range is the last 90 days. Some account types allow up to 18 months. Credit card history online covers up to 90 days or 300 transactions, which is why the monthly card statement remains the complete record.
Business accounts
Business customers use Wells Fargo Business Online, where statements carry the same protections as personal online statements. Enrollment also lets one sign-on see personal and business accounts together.
Keeping two years of card statements from vanishing
The two-year card window is the one that catches people out. Connect your Wells Fargo sign-on and our AI agent opens Statements & Documents each month and saves the new PDF through bill fetching. Card purchases made for work can then go straight into an expense report, with the PDFs kept for tax time.
