How to download a past SDG&E bill

SDG&E bills live in My Energy Center, the utility's online account, and in the San Diego Gas & Electric app. In the app, tap Billing, open the Billing and Payment History tab and tap a Bill Date to see that month's summary and its PDF. To pay without signing in, use Guest Pay with your account number plus either your ZIP code or the last four digits of your Social Security or federal tax ID.
Past bill lookup in the SDG&E app
- Sign in to the app and tap Billing in the bottom navigation.
- Open the Billing and Payment History tab. Billing History is the first view to load.
- Tap the Bill Date you want. A summary opens along with the PDF of that bill, ready to save or share.
The same tab lists your payments, which settles any question about whether a given month was paid.
Ways to pay an SDG&E bill
- My Energy Center: pay from a bank account, a debit or credit card, or a digital wallet.
- Guest Pay: a one-time payment with no login.
- Pay with chat: the virtual assistant checks your balance and takes a payment.
- Phone: 1-800-411-7343 accepts major credit and debit cards or an electronic check.
- Text-to-pay: set it up once, then pay each month by text message.
- Mail: checks go to SDG&E, P.O. Box 25111, Santa Ana, CA 92799-5111.
- In person: authorized payment locations, some inside retail or grocery stores.
Auto Pay and Auto Pay Plus
SDG&E runs two automatic plans. Auto Pay draws only from a checking or savings account. Auto Pay Plus charges a credit or debit card or a digital wallet such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Venmo or PayPal, and its enrollment finishes in a Paymentus window.
- Log in to My Energy Center.
- Click Billing in the main navigation, then Auto Pay.
- Choose a bank account, or a card or wallet for Auto Pay Plus.
- Pick a payment date between 0 and 5 days before the bill is due.
In the app the path is Billing, then Auto Pay at the top of the screen, then Enroll. Automatic payment changes how the money leaves your account, not the paperwork: SDG&E still issues a bill every cycle, and that PDF is the record your books need.
Going paperless
The Go Paperless option on SDG&E's pay page swaps the mailed bill for a digital one inside My Energy Center. Nothing changes about how you pay.
Twelve SDG&E PDFs a year, without twelve app sessions
A San Diego home office or storefront needs each gas and electric bill on file, not just the card charge. Connect My Energy Center and our AI agent signs in with your login, opens Billing and Payment History and saves every new bill through bill fetching. Paperless notices that reach your inbox are filed by email receipt capture, and each bill can then ride along on an expense report.
