How to download a past LADWP bill

LADWP keeps your bills in your online account: log in and choose Bill & Notification History in the left menu. Active service accounts show two years of bills and inactive ones show one year. Anything older is archived and has to be requested in writing. Payments run through the same account, the phone line or the mail.
Bill lookup in Bill & Notification History
- Log in to your LADWP account.
- Select Bill & Notification History on the left menu.
- Open the bill you need and download it.
For a bill past the two-year window, write to LADWP General Correspondence, PO Box 51111, Los Angeles, CA 90051-0100. LADWP warns that a fee may apply to archived copies.
Paying online or by phone
Use Pay bill online in your account to authorize a one-time payment from checking or savings. Residential customers can also pay with Visa or MasterCard. Saving your payment details is optional and the service is free.
The phone line is 1-877-MYPAYDWP (1-877-697-2939), open around the clock from a touch-tone phone. Have your account number, your 4-digit access code and your payment details ready unless they are already saved online.
Setting up automatic payment
- Click Sign Up Now and log in.
- Open the Automatic Payment tab in the middle of the page.
- Pre-authorize debits from checking or savings. Residential customers can use a credit card instead.
The debit runs ten business days after each bill is issued. First-time automatic payment enrollment earns a one-time $15 credit, and new Paperless Billing customers get a one-time $10 credit. The bill keeps coming every cycle even when nothing needs doing, and it is the document that shows the water and power charges behind the debit.
In person and by mail
Los Angeles area customer service centers are open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Owens Valley from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed on holidays. Book an appointment at 1-888-999-0477. Since August 18, 2023, commercial and industrial accounts can pay by card in person only when the cardholder name matches the account holder. By mail, write your account number on the check, add the stub and send it to LADWP, PO Box 30808, Los Angeles, CA 90030-0808.
Keeping LADWP bills past the two-year cutoff
Two years runs out quickly when a landlord, a lender or your accountant asks about an older water and power bill. Connect your LADWP account and our AI agent signs in, opens Bill & Notification History and saves each bill as it posts through bill fetching. Your archive keeps growing after LADWP's own window closes, and paperless notices are filed by email receipt capture for the expense report.
