Sign in at portlandgeneral.com and use Pay bill to pay Portland General Electric online, or pay in the PGE app for Android or iPhone. With Paperless Bill you can view bills going back 36 months once signed in. Customers with several accounts can view and download summary bills and bills by account and meter number.
Online bill pay and the PGE app
Online payment needs a PGE account. Create one from the sign-in page if you don't have it yet. The app covers the same ground on a phone. PGE's billing page doesn't describe a guest payment without signing in.
Paperless Bill adds Quick Pay: with your bank information saved, you can pay straight from the emailed bill without signing in.
Phone, mail and cash payments
- Phone: the automated system at 503-228-6322 or 800-542-8818 takes a card or a checking account. Have your bank account and routing numbers ready for checking.
- Mail: Portland General Electric, P.O. Box 4438, Portland, OR 97208-4438.
- In person: cash or debit card at Western Union or CheckFreePay locations, without fees. These payments post in 2 business days.
If your bill is past due, call PGE with the payment confirmation number to prevent a disconnection or get reconnected.
Auto Pay on the due date
- Sign in and open Enroll in Auto Pay.
- Add the bank account to draw from.
- Keep paying by hand until a statement shows "Do Not Pay." That message means Auto Pay has started.
From then on the bill is paid from your bank account on its due date. PGE still sends a monthly statement with time to review it first. Treat that statement as the receipt for the month.
Bill history lookup with Paperless Bill
Sign up at Sign up for Paperless Bill. You get an email when each bill is ready, can open the full bill at any time and can look back 36 months after signing in. For businesses with multiple sites, the summary bill and the per-meter bills are both downloadable from the same account.
Every PGE meter, filed each month
A business with several meters gets a summary bill plus one bill per meter, which is a lot of PDFs to download by hand. Connect your Portland General Electric account and our AI agent signs in and saves the summary and each meter bill through bill fetching. Paperless Bill emails are filed by email receipt capture, and each bill is ready for the expense report or your bookkeeper.
