How to download a past FortisBC bill

FortisBC bills are downloaded from Account Online. In the billing section you can see your billing history, check whether a payment went through and download invoices when you need them. Register with your FortisBC account number and email address at accounts.fortisbc.com.
Registering
Select Register now on the Account Online login page and enter your account number and email address. After that you log in with a User ID and password. If you forget either, recover them from the same page.
Inside the billing section
- Your billing history, bill by bill.
- Payment status, to confirm a payment was received.
- Invoices to download for your records.
- Your instalment amount if you are on the Equal Payment Plan.
FortisBC does not publish how far back the history goes. Download the invoices you need rather than counting on them staying there.
The same login covers more than billing. The My energy use tab charts your consumption over a timeframe you pick and points out which appliances use the most energy. You can also open, close or move an account and sign up for the Equal Payment Plan without calling.
Gas and electricity under one login
If you have both a FortisBC gas account and an electricity account, one Account Online login can reach both. Paperless billing, though, is set up for each account on its own.
Going paperless
- Account Online: open the Billing and payments menu and choose Bill delivery options.
- Online form: fill in FortisBC's sign-up form and confirm through the verification email, which arrives within 24 hours.
- By phone: 1-888-224-2710 for gas, or 1-866-436-7847 for electricity.
Paperless bills go to your email inbox instead of the mail.
Paying a FortisBC bill and the Pre-authorized Payment Plan
In telephone or online banking, use the account number from the top of the bill and the payee descriptor FortisBC natural gas or FortisBC electricity. Mastercard, Visa and Visa Debit payments go through KUBRA EZ-PAY, online or by phone at 1-855-650-1562 for gas and 1-855-963-1440 for electricity, with a fee of 1.75% on credit cards and 0.75% on Visa Debit. Cheques go to separate PO boxes for gas and electricity, and four FortisBC offices have drop boxes.
The Pre-authorized Payment Plan withdraws each bill from your bank account every month. FortisBC charges nothing to join, though your bank might:
- Log in to Account Online.
- Select Pre-authorized Payment Plan from the Payment options menu.
- Follow the remaining steps.
Gas and electricity keep separate account numbers, which means two bills to file each month even when one bank account pays both.
FortisBC gas and electricity bills, both kept
Two accounts, two paperless sign-ups and an unstated history limit make FortisBC records easy to scatter. Connect Account Online and our AI agent signs in, downloads the invoice for each account as it is issued and stores it, through bill fetching. Bills arriving in your inbox after you go paperless are filed by email receipt capture, and the year's gas and electricity costs are grouped for tax time.
