Kal Tire keeps a record of your visits through CARFAX: create an account on KalTire.com, enter your licence plate and VIN in My Garage, and your service history appears for free. Each record Kal Tire sends to CARFAX includes the store location, service date, odometer reading, invoice number and a description of the work. The original invoice itself is what Kal Tire asks to see at any warranty claim.
Service history lookup in My Garage
- Create or sign in to your KalTire.com account.
- Add your vehicle to My Garage with its licence plate and VIN.
- Open the service history, which lists completed work by Kal Tire and other CARFAX network shops.
Kal Tire's privacy policy adds that viewing the history requires a registered My Garage account and a CARFAX account or CARFAX report. Expect maintenance inspections, tire rotations, oil and filter changes and tire conditions in the list.
Why the original invoice matters
Kal Tire's warranty terms set the same conditions for every claim:
- the full price was paid to a Kal Tire location in Canada
- the claim comes within 30 days of discovering the defect
- the warranty belongs to the customer on the invoice and does not transfer
- it stays with the vehicle the work was bought for
- the original invoice is presented with the request
Customer Care Plan tire claims need the tires, the vehicle and the customer's copy of the original invoice at any Kal Tire location. The custom wheel warranty also requires the original invoice.
Keeping the Customer Care Plan valid
Rotate and inspect your tires every 8,000 to 10,000 km, a service Kal Tire provides at no charge, keep proper alignment and check inflation monthly. The 30-day satisfaction guarantee gives full credit toward a new set if you have worn no more than 2/32 of an inch. Flat repairs on repairable tires are free for the life of the tires. Each free visit adds a dated entry to the history in My Garage.
Mechanical work
Passenger and light truck mechanical services carry a 365-day or 20,000 km parts and labour warranty for the original purchaser. Defective parts are inspected at any Kal Tire location within the warranty period.
Kal Tire invoices for trades and farm trucks
CARFAX history shows an invoice number, not the invoice, and a warranty counter wants the paper. A contractor or farm with several vehicles on Kal Tire tires should file every invoice by truck. Photograph each one in the Smartbills app at the counter, track the spending per unit in expense reports, and keep the year's invoices together in tax receipts.
