Descript does not email invoices. They are only in your account: open App Settings with Command or Control and the comma key, select the Invoices tab, click an invoice, then click View Receipt at the top right to save a PDF. Only the Drive owner can see invoices.
Getting the PDF
- Open App Settings (Command or Control plus comma).
- Select the Invoices tab.
- Click the invoice to open it.
- Click View Receipt in the top-right corner to save or download the PDF.
Plans and add-ons such as extra transcription hours all land in this tab. View Receipt does not appear for $0.00 invoices, or for invoices from free promotions or coupon codes.
Add tax details before the invoice is finalized
Billing name, address and tax ID or VAT number must be in place before an invoice is finalized. They cannot be added to or changed on invoices already generated, and they do not apply backwards. Add them right after subscribing if you need them on the first invoice.
Paying in another currency
Invoice totals are shown in USD. If you pay in another currency, the list and the invoice show that amount next to the USD total, with the exchange rate used, which is the figure to match against your card statement.
Invoice lookup when something is missing
Check that you are signed in as the Drive owner and looking at the right Drive. A SquadCast subscription not connected to Descript has its invoices under Settings, then Billing, in SquadCast. A paused subscription hides invoices until you resume or cancel. Before a Drive ownership transfer, the current owner must download every invoice, because the history is lost in the transfer.
Descript invoices saved before anyone loses them
No email, owner-only access and a history that disappears on transfer: Descript invoices need collecting on purpose. Connect the Drive owner's account and our AI agent signs in after each charge and saves the PDF from the Invoices tab with bill fetching. A podcaster paying personally can claim it on an expense report, and the tax is kept for year end.
