Anyone who wants their receipts in one place. People use it to find a receipt for a return or a warranty, split a bill with friends and get ready for tax time. Businesses use it for expense reports, supplier bills and bookkeeping in QuickBooks, Xero or Sage, and accounting firms use it to collect receipts from their clients.
In three ways. Stores on the Smartbills network send the receipt to your account at checkout. Email capture reads the receipts and invoices in the Gmail, Outlook or other mailbox folders you pick. For everything else, the mobile app scans the paper receipt in a few seconds.
You still keep the receipt. If the store emails one, email capture picks it up, and if it hands you paper, the app scans it. The network takes away the last manual step at the stores you visit most, but Smartbills works without it.
The mobile app runs on iPhone and Android, and the web app works in any browser on Mac or Windows. Both use the same account, in English or French. A receipt that lands on your phone at checkout is waiting on your computer too.
Yes. Smartbills connects to point-of-sale systems such as Square, Toast, Clover, Lightspeed and Shopify POS, and sends each customer an itemized receipt by app, email, SMS or QR code. Our merchants page explains how to join the network.
Yes. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2 or higher) and at rest (AES-256), every account is isolated with role-based access, and card numbers are never stored on Smartbills servers. Our security page lists every control.
Yes, there's a Free plan. It's for one person and includes 10 receipt scans a month, at most 5 a day, with ads, no credit card and no time limit. Professional costs $12.99 CAD per user per month, starts with a 14-day trial and adds unlimited scans with no ads, more users, accounts payable automation and accounting sync.
