How to get an IHG hotel receipt or folio

At check-out

Ask the front desk for the itemized folio when you check out, or ask to have it emailed. The printed bill also shows your IHG confirmation number, which you'll need for anything else about the stay.

Looking up a receipt for a past stay

IHG's customer care pages say to use the online Issues form for a past reservation. You can also contact the hotel directly: it holds the folio and can resend it. Have the confirmation number, the dates and the name on the booking ready.

A charge you don't recognize

For a problem with the bill itself, IHG says to contact the hotel directly by phone or to use its online Issues Form. Service or quality concerns also go to the hotel's management first, with the Issues Form as the next step if you need more help.

Points for a missing stay

IHG One Rewards members can request credit for a stay up to six months after check-out, separate from getting the receipt. IHG asks you to allow five business days after check-out for points to post, and to submit a Missing Points form if they still haven't appeared. Be ready to say how and when you earned them.

IHG stays in Canada

A Canadian folio shows GST or HST, and a hotel in Québec adds the QST and the lodging tax. Our Québec hotel bill guide walks through each line. For an expense claim, it's the folio, not the booking confirmation, that carries the hotel's registration numbers.

IHG folios without the paperwork

When the hotel emails the folio, email receipt capture files it with every night and tax on separate lines. A printed copy from the desk can be photographed in the Smartbills app, and the stay joins the rest of the trip on one expense report.
