Getaround receipts are downloaded from a web browser, not the app. Log in to your Getaround account on the website and open the Payments page, which lists every transaction with its payment receipt. A receipt only exists once the payment has actually been charged, and Getaround's own service fee invoices follow 48 hours after each rental ends.
The Payments page
- Open Getaround in a web browser and log in.
- Go to the Payments page.
- Find the rental and download its receipt.
The mobile app does not offer this. Switch to a computer or a phone browser when you need the document.
Why a receipt is missing
Getaround only generates a receipt once the payment has actually been charged. A booking you just made, or a rental that has not started, may not have one yet. Check the Payments page again after the charge appears on your card.
Service fee invoices and VAT
The amount you pay is split between Getaround, the car's owner, the insurer and any roadside assistance provider. Getaround only invoices its own service fees, which is why the VAT on its invoice does not match your total. For an invoice covering the rental itself, ask the owner: professional owners can issue a VAT invoice when you request it.
Business trips
Getaround says business trips get their receipts and invoices in a dedicated dashboard. For companies outside France and Norway, the receipt for an expense report is downloaded straight from the account dashboard. Administrators in France and Norway can also download monthly summaries with a CSV of transactions, receipts and service fee invoices.
Getaround receipts gathered from the web
Since Getaround keeps receipts off the app, they are easy to leave behind. Connect your Getaround account and our AI agent signs in through a browser and downloads each receipt and service fee invoice via bill fetching. An owner's VAT invoice sent by email is filed by email receipt capture, and the rental appears complete on your expense report.
