No. Smartbills doesn't tell you what you're entitled to claim, doesn't apply income thresholds and doesn't know your situation. What it does is make sure every receipt exists, is sorted sensibly and can be handed to your accountant or your tax software.

No. The built-in sets follow the Canadian and US returns. In the UK you set up your own categories, such as allowable expenses, Gift Aid donations or pension contributions, and every receipt sorts into them the same way.
HMRC asks for records to be kept for at least five years after the 31 January filing deadline if you're self-employed, and six years for a company. Smartbills keeps the shop's original receipt next to the details it pulled from it, so you have more than a picture to show if HMRC asks.
